What is a print head, which types are there?

print head

One thing common amonginkjet printers is print heads. Whether it is the small or large type of inkjet printer, the print heads vary in different types. Today, print heads have a small nozzle where the ink is released and chambers where the ink is contained. They basically perform the same task, but factors include the type of brand and technology used to make it different.

There are mainly two kinds of print head, Thermal and Piezo, and they use different ways to print. How the ink is sprayed and move in the print heads makes them unique.

Thermal Print Head

The HP 952XL Ink Cartridges is a type of thermal print head that provides impressive, reliable, and efficient printing performance. The thermal print head is a water-based ink and uses heat to print. Canon and HP printers use a thermal print head and is compatible with aqueous inks. When the print head is damaged, it is easy to replace the thermal print head because of its cheaper price.

Piezo Print Head

Contrary to thermal, this type of print head does not use heat for printing. Instead, it uses a thin film that causes it to vibrate when exposed to a certain electric charge. When exposed, it forces the ink to print on paper due to the high pressure. The vibration allows a more precise printing and gives a reliable result. Although HP 952XL Ink Cartridges may not be suitable for Piezo print head, there are other ink cartridges that can be used for printing like the inks from EPSON.
